Fuel filter types for the Crafter II

The 2.0 TDI engines in the Crafter II use diesel fuel filters that comply with the Euro 6 standard. They remove water and dirt particles and thus protect the injection nozzles and DPF from damage, for example. The component with part number 04L 127 434A is often used, although there may be different suitable filters depending on the model variants.

2016 Volkswagen Crafter - Position of the oil filter

The oil filter is located on the right-hand side of the engine and is accessible from below. It is housed in a filter housing and is removed using a 32 mm socket spanner. It is important to always use a filter that fulfils VW standard 507.00 when changing the filter.

VW Crafter II - Location of the fuel filter

The fuel filter is located near the tank under the vehicle. To change it, follow these steps:
1. lift the vehicle securely and fix it on jack stands.
2. remove the protective cover of the filter.
3. disconnect the fuel lines using the quick-release couplings.
4. remove the old filter, paying attention to the direction of flow, and insert the new filter.
5. reattach the lines, attach the cover and bleed the fuel system by switching on the ignition several times.

Volkswagen Crafter - Position of the pollen filter

The pollen filter is located behind the glove compartment. It is replaced as follows:
1. open the glove compartment and remove the bumpers so that it folds down.
2. remove the cover from the filter housing.
3. insert the new filter, observing the correct airflow direction.
4. close the housing and fold the glove compartment back up.

Recommended replacement intervals for filters in the VW Crafter 2016

Oil filter: every 15,000-20,000 km.
Fuel filter: every 30,000-40,000 km.
Air filter: every 30,000 km (more often in dusty environments).
Pollen filter: every 15,000 km to ensure good air quality in the interior at all times. Less text
