Specifications of the Fiat Ducato III by Transit Center.
The third generation of the Fiat Ducato made its debut in September 2006 and quickly captured the attention of numerous customers. This version of the Ducato offered a contemporary design along with exceptional loading capabilities. The fully redesigned interior, featuring a range of conveniences for both the driver and passengers, became an instant success. The Fiat Ducato soon established itself as Europe’s top commercial vehicle. Its popularity reached such heights that, in 2013, the model was introduced in North America under the Ram Trucks brand, where it is sold as the Ram ProMaster.
The Fiat Ducato III is available in numerous configurations, including three wheelbase options: L1, L2, and L3, along with three roof heights: H1 to H3. The shortest wheelbase, labeled L1, measures 3 meters, while the longest, L3, spans 4035 mm. The mid-range option, L2, features a wheelbase of 3450 mm. In 2014, the model underwent a significant facelift, with the front end receiving extensive updates. The facelift introduced new LED daytime running lights, a redesigned grille, hood, and bumper, giving the vehicle a more modern appearance. Additionally, engines were updated, and interior features were refined, including brand-new seats, a cup holder integrated into the console, and mounts for mobile devices and laptops. These upgrades were tailored to meet user demands.
Engine Specifications - Fiat Ducato III
The engines available for the third-generation Fiat Ducato until 2011 included the 100 MultiJet, 120 MultiJet, 130 MultiJet, 160 MultiJet Power, and 140 Natural Power. The numerical designation indicates the horsepower output of each engine. Notably, the 130 MultiJet was exclusively offered in camper-style models. By 2014, additional options such as the 115 MultiJet II, 130 MultiJet II, 150 MultiJet II, and 180 MultiJet Power were introduced. Among these, the 160 MultiJet Power was solely available in the Ducato MiniBus variant.
For those interested in higher-capacity engines, the American market features the 3.6 Pentastar V6 engine paired with a 62TE six-speed automatic transmission. Interestingly, the Ram ProMaster has not received a facelift and remains largely unchanged in its exterior design as of 2020.
The next generation of the Fiat Ducato is anticipated to debut in 2021.
