Deutsche Post DHL Group

The Deutsche Post DHL Group has started production of an electric delivery van based on the Ford Transit's seventh generation, the StreetScooter GmbH and Ford-Werke GmbH, in July 2017. According to official announcements, there will be at least 2,500 Transit electric vehicles on German streets by 2018, which will be adapted to Deutsche Post and DHL specifications.
StreetScooter GmbH has been manufacturing work trucks in Aachen since 2015. To date, the Deutsche Post fleet is already close to 3,000 units.
The small electric supply packs have a 4.3 cubic meter package, and the lithium-ion (Li-Ion) batteries allow up to 80 kilometers. What will be the case with Ford Transit? Electric Transit with delivery of more than 20 cubic meters, and the range of lithium-ion batteries installed in the vehicle is enough to drive from 80 to even 200 kilometers. The electric drive generates 204 hp and 300 Nm, but the maximum speed of the StreetScooter Work XL is only 85 km / h.
The official payload of the StreetScooter Work XL is 1 350 kg, which means that without loading, this courier delivery weighs as much as 2,900 kg. High personal weight is largely due to heavy batteries.
